Show Audition - What to Prepare & Bring
We know this is a lot of stuff to prepare and bring with you to auditions. Please reach out if you need help or have questions!
Song Selection
We want you to be comfortable and confident at auditions! If you have a musical theatre song that is in the style/range of the character(s) that you will be auditioning for, then PLEASE audition with that song. Otherwise, choose a musical theater song that you’re comfortable singing.
Prepare 16 bars of any musical theatre song
Bring sheet music that is clearly marked with your audition cut and be sure that your music is in the correct key as our accompanist will not transpose on the spot
Learn more about this process HERE (This video refers to Seussical auditions, but the process is the same)

Acapella music will not be considered for an audition
What to Wear
Wear clothes that are comfortable and appropriate that you can move easily in. Please keep your hair tied back away from your face. If you are clean, comfortable and looking your best, you are ready to go!
Your Audition Checklist
HEADSHOT: bring a printed headshot.
If you have provided a headshot for a previous show, we will keep it on file for one year. If you have provided a headshot within the last year and are happy with it, you do not need to replace it.
Learn more about headshots HERE
RESUME: bring a printed resume. If you have any performance experience, show or otherwise, we ask that you provide a resume, this is particularly helpful if you have extensive dance training, vocal training, or can juggle five wuzzles. If you don’t have any performance experience, you may skip this step.

SHEET MUSIC: bring your sheet music with your audition cut in the correct key that you'll be singing. See the Song Selection section above for more information.
CONFLICTS: note conflicts on audition forms that you can not avoid between January 4 and March 13. It is helpful to be as open as possible about all conflicts ahead of time. Students must be available for all performances to be cast in the show. Review the Show Rehearsal and Performance Schedule.
AUDITION FORM: please fill out the form HERE. You will be presented with a copy of the form at auditions. If you are under age 18, a parent or guardian must sign the form. If you are 18 or over, you may sign the form. If you are under 18 and your parent or guardian will not be present at the auditions, email Angela Russell and she will email you a copy for you to print and have signed.
PRODUCTION TEAM FORM: please fill out the form HERE, but only if you have chosen the $225 Show Tuition Option.
