Crew Application

If you want to be part of the magic but don't want to be onstage, there is another way! Come join Crew . We are accepting application from students in 6th-12th grade.

Each crew member is essential to the success of every show. Once tech rehearsals start everything is student run. All staff provide a safe and educational environment during rehearsals and tech week before handing ownership over to the students, who see the show to its close. 

Run crew, (sometimes called backstage crew, or backstage ninjas) is crucial to the success of a show, they keep it running smoothly and safely. They are in charge of moving scenery, keeping track of props, costumes, assisting actors and even operating lighting and sound systems. They power the magic for each production!

We will also be taking applications for stage managers/assistant stage managers.

Your time commitment will vary from high to low depending on what job you have. Please see our crew application for all of the different ways to be involved!

In order to apply for crew, please do the following:

  1. Portal account. If your family does not have an account on our Portal, please create one. If you have previously taken any classes (including our Fall TOP class), camps or workshops with Lovegood or have previously auditioned for a show with Lovegood, this has already been completed. If this is your first time, welcome! Please register for our portal. You will not need to register for a class once the account is created. We will handle that after the cast list is announced.

  2. Mailing List. We will be using software to automate callboard post emails. If you are new to theater, the callboard is the website we use to communicate important details with cast and crew during the show process. We will use the email address(es) listed on the Audition Form to email you call board updates. In order for this process to work, the email address(es) on your Audition Form need to be on Lovegood’s mailing list. If you do not know if your address is on our list, you can sign up here. (If you get the emails announcing when Lovegood class registration opens, or Lovegood tickets go on sale, you are already on the list). Regardless of whether you choose to join the mailing list, you will be responsible for all information posted on the callboard.

  3. Production Team Form. Production teams are an essential component of our show process. This is an opportunity to support our actors and artistic team by doing the behind the scenes work required to make our shows amazing. We need help with everything from sets and costumes, to helping with house and concessions. It takes a village to put on a show are we are so thankful for our amazing production team members. We need at least one adult from each family to support the show, but the more the merrier. Please have each adult volunteer fill out the Production Team Form. You will receive SERVE hours.

  4. Crew Application. If you are ready to commit, complete our Crew Application. Make sure ALL CONFLICTS are listed on the Crew Application. Students with conflicts during any performance will not be accepted on Crew.

  5. SM/ASM Application. If you interested in being a Stage Manager or Assistant Stage manager, you can fill out our SM/ASM Application.

  6. BILLING: If you are accepted to Crew or as SM/ASM you will be invoiced for your show tuition ($50). If you are not accepted, you will not be charged. We do not issue refunds. Please review our payment policy for more information regarding billing, credits, and payment plans.
