We are excited to offer a guaranteed performance opportunity for students aged 8-22.
This dramatization of C.S. Lewis' classic work faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia. The intense action features chases, duels and escapes as the witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession and to end the reign of Aslan. All the memorable episodes from the story are represented in this exciting dramatization: the temptation of Edmund by the witch, the slaying of the evil wolf by Peter, the witnessing of Aslan's resurrection by Susan and Lucy, the crowing of the four new rulers of Narnia, and more. The supporting characters are also here: the unicorn, the centaur and other forest animals, along with Father Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver and Tumnus the Faun. This story of love, faith, courage and giving, with its triumph of good over evil, is a true celebration of life.
Auditions will be held on the first class night. The performance is free to attend and will last approximately 90 minutes.
We have three full casts for this opportunity. Students will meet from 6pm-9pm Fridays from April 7 through May 26. There is a mandatory dress rehearsal either Monday May 29, Wednesday May 31 or Thursday June 1 depending on which cast a student is placed in from 5pm-9pm. Each cast will perform once. Performances will be Friday, June 2 @ 7:30, Saturday, June 3 @ 7:30 and Sunday, June 4 @ 3pm. Students must be able to attend the dress rehearsal and the performance for their cast to participate in this class. Registered students will be given the opportunity before casting to communicate if one of the dress rehearsal or performance dates do not work for them.
Whether you are a returning student or new to the team, thank you for helping us to entertain, educate, and inspire!
