Design for the Stage: Hair and Makeup

Join us this Spring season as we dive into design of hair & makeup for the stage!  You'll learn each step of the process with your own hair & makeup design as well as techniques to learn what possibilities there might be that you’ve never before explored! Through creating mood boards, sketches, wig stand trials, material exploration and practice on faces, you will learn the full arc of design. We will be implementing all of this knowledge with designing and executing hair and makeup for our spring main stage play: Peter Pan! This class is great for anyone who wants to direct, use any aspect of design, build, craft, create, make new friendships, and strengthen old ones! 

We are excited to offer this no prerequisite, guaranteed technical theatre opportunity for students aged 12+.

This class will meet Thursdays from 6pm-8pm. See the Details section below for more information on prerequisites, class meetings, weeks off and performance times.

• Prerequisites: None.

• Age Range: 12+

• Class and Performance Dates:

  • Classes: Thursdays, April 4-May 23 6pm-8pm

  • No Class Week: April 25

  • Exhibition: Students will be presenting their work via videos that will be shown at our May 23 Exhibition

• Casting: Guaranteed Acceptance

• Registration: Registration is open now and will remain open until classes fill or until the registration deadline.

  • Early Bird Registration (register by this date for reduced tuition): March 7

  • Registration Deadline: April 11.

• Tuition, Fees, and Discounts:

  • Class Tuition: $250 with Early Bird (on or before March 17). $275 after March 18.

  • Production fee: $15. Production fees provide a budget for supplies.
