Two Fall seasons ago, Lovegood had the privilege to put together an outstanding performance of The Addams Family, a New Musical Comedy. Unfortunately, we restricted the age to 12 and up. We are reprising this hilarious story in the form of a revue class. In this class, we will be learning some popular songs and scenes from this hilarious show. Come join us as we peek into this mysterious and altogether ooky story!

Addams Family Revue for Tweens

Beginner Tap
If you've always wanted to learn to tap dance, this class is for you! This one hour class is perfect for any true-beginner tap student ages 6+ (Have a little bit of tap experience? Check out our 2 hour class!) Students will build a strong foundation in tap dance through the exploration of beginning tap steps, rhythm, combinations and across the floor exercises. Throughout the class students will work on learning choreography for the exhibition performance. Grab your tap shoes and come join the fun!
This is a no prerequisite, guaranteed performance opportunity for students aged 6+.
Advanced Beginner/Intermediate Tap
This class is perfect for anyone 10+ who has some tap dance experience and is excited to take their skills to the next level! This class will move at a moderate pace with the expectation that students have some prior knowledge (New to tap dance? check out our true beginner 1 hour class!). Students will build their step vocabulary, rhythm, precision and strength through the introduction of new tap steps, as well as drills, combination and across the floor exercises, Throughout the class students will work on learning choreography for the exhibition performance. Grab your tap shoes and come join the fun!
This is a guaranteed performance opportunity for students aged 10+ who have some previous tap experience.
Learning to Harmonize
Unlock the beautiful complexity of vocal harmony in our Learn to Harmonize class! Designed for singers of all levels, this course dives into the foundational skills necessary for mastering the art of harmony singing. Each session combines theoretical instruction with practical exercises, ensuring that students not only learn the concepts but also apply them in a supportive and collaborative environment. By the end of the course, participants will be able to confidently contribute to harmonies in any singing group, enhancing their overall musicality and performance skills.

Beginning Acting for Adults
Here at Lovegood, as we celebrate theatre at every stage, we want to give a unique opportunity for the adults in our community to build some acting training in their toolbelt. Whether you are interested in honing existing skills to be a more well-rounded performer or you just are curious to see what can unfold with a good acting class, this class will be a perfect fit for you. We will be exploring some foundational acting methods and applying them to a combination of script and characters. Plus you will make some friends for a lifetime here and build some skills in raising your confidence in your normal life.
This is a no prerequisite, guaranteed performance opportunity for students aged 18+.
Design for the Stage: Props
Step into the world where everyday objects transform into key players in storytelling. In our Props Class, you’ll unravel the secrets behind selecting, creating, and manipulating props to enhance every performance. Whether you’re a budding actor, a seasoned stagehand, or a curious enthusiast, this immersive workshop offers hands-on training in:
Selection and Design: Discover how props are chosen or crafted to align seamlessly with the production’s theme and period.
Characterization: Explore how props can deepen character development and add layers of authenticity to performances.

Dance Trix + Sidekicks
Have you ever watched shows like So You Think You Can Dance? or Dancing With the Stars and have been amazed at the tricks their dynamic duos perform together? This is the class for you.
Learn how to utilize a partner to execute show-stopping tricks, flips, leaps, and turns that are only achievable with the help of your "sidekick". We will build on prior dance technique knowledge and skills to safely learn and perform amazing partner-work. Don't worry if you don't have a partner to sign up with, as everyone will learn how to partner with different individuals.

Improv I-Fall
Improvisation is an incredible way for students to learn important stage and life skills! Improv teaches students to focus, listen carefully, and be a good team member. In this class we'll go over improv vocabulary, techniques and games! Expect to learn to create zany characters, intricate environments and grow your imagination.
We are excited to offer this no prerequisite, guaranteed performance opportunity for students aged 8-22.
Anyone can take this class. We will be offering Improv I and Improv II in the Winter 2024 Season and this class will help you prepare yourself for that path.
Becoming a Triple Threat
Join us in building up your theatre core! We will be tackling things from the inside out: the fine points of acting, analyzing a script and character, singing and vocal characterization as well as movement and dance to strengthen you for any situation or role! This class is only for those who want to learn in a positive, engaging, fun, hands-on environment. If you want to be a strong competitor in acting, voice and dance, this is where you need to be!

This class will fulfill a prerequisite for our WINTER 2024 : “Street + Club Styles” and “Hadestown Musical Revue” classes.
Dynamic Duos
Since we have been made for community and to create art, we should know how to tell stories together! Learn how to become part of a dynamic duo on stage through exploring some of musical theatre's most captivating counterparts. We will focus on growing skills in vocal characterization, interpretation of lyrics and storytelling through movement as you work toward developing duets for our exhibition performance.

How I Became A Pirate Younger@Part® is a no prerequisite, guaranteed performance opportunity for students aged 8-13 to audition for, learn, and perform a scripted 30 minute musical.
Improv
We are excited to offer a guaranteed performance opportunity for students aged 10-22, interested in Improv. For those that are new to Improv, you'll learn the basics to this craft. For those that have some experience, be prepared to grow your skills.
Classes will be Thursday. There will be a Dress Rehearsal Wednesday, November 16 with an Exhibition Performance Friday, November 18.
Technical Theater
We are excited to offer a Technical Theater Class for students aged 12-22.
Classes will be Monday.
From sets and props to costumes and hair & make up, students help design and execute the look of our Annie KIDS productions. Tech Students will be acting as the run crew for our Annie KIDS Dress Rehearsals and Performances all day and into the evening on Saturday, November 19. In addition, students may be asked to be run crew for our Improv and Musical Theater Revue Exhibition. The dress rehearsal will be on Wednesday, November 16 and the performance will be Friday, November 18.
Students in our Technical Theater Class have the opportunity to apply to participate in our main stage production as Crew. If accepted, Technical Theater students may participate as crew with no additional tuition.
Mad’z Skillz
We are excited to offer this guaranteed performance opportunity for students aged 10-15.
Join us as we advance our mad(z) dance skills and technique while learning choreography based on popular shows like Hamilton, Beetlejuice, Newsies, and Hairspray. We’ll build on the foundational technique of musical theater dance while incorporating popular music, steps, and concepts.
Classes will be Thursday. There will be a dress rehearsal Wednesday, November 16 and an Exhibition Performance Friday, November 18.
Annie KIDS
We are excited to offer a guaranteed performance opportunity for students aged 8-14.
Students in this class will be immersed into Musical Theater while learning and performing a scripted Kids musical, Annie KIDS. We are offering two different opportunities to participate in this class, a Monday cast and a Thursday cast. The both casts are currently waitlisted.
Both casts will have a Dress Rehearsal followed immediately by a performance on Saturday, November 19.
